Meet Eric Swauger
In 1994, a young Eric Swauger started a concrete pumping company with his brother, ESI/JDH, which eventually grew to one of the largest concrete pumping and equipment rental companies in Florida.
ESI really took off when they purchased the first of two Laser Screeds, setting them apart from other concrete pumping companies in the state. The Screed has an automatic laser control system that ensures an accurate level finish through the use of electro-hydraulic controls. Laser receivers mounted at each end of the screed head receive a signal from a transmitter multiple times per second providing total automatic control to finished floor level.
Because ESI owned this massive equipment, they scored large contracts such as WalMart Super Centers, Home Depots, Raymond James Stadium, Sunshine Skyway Bridge, TECO’s Big Bend Power Plant, Saks in the Westshore Plaza, and Citrus Park Town Center. Eric recognized a niche and built a multi-million dollar business pumping concrete in many of Tampa Bay’s landmarks. He also rented his extensive pumping and construction fleets.

Meet Mike Mittler
Eric soon hired Mike Mittler as Production Manager. Mike’s background is in landscape design and construction. Mike graduated from Johnson Wales University with a bachelor of science in Management and continued his education at Rutgers University in Irrigation Design and Construction. In previous work experience, Mike had the opportunity to be involved in every facet of layout, design and installation of retaining walls, paver walks, patios and driveways as well as landscape and drainage design and installation. He excels in layout and installation of residential and commercial irrigation systems, service and repair.
Between these two powerhouses, Eric and Mike have built a turnkey business offering seawall design and construction with full landscaping services to put those special finishing touches on a project. Because of their skill sets, they also launched Gibson Outdoors as a one-stop-shop for landscaping, irrigation, driveways and patios.
